Developing Our Inner Relationships

When practicing inner-work and self-inquiry, there’s a part of me that shows up sometimes as complete and utter blankness. It stonewalls me, baring access to clear thought and connected experience.

When I’m in it, I’m in it – which is an invitation for my internal dialogue to start piling on judgement, shame, and criticism. As I’m sure you can imagine, this goes nowhere really fast and typically leaves me feeling extremely low!

Have you ever experienced something like that?

Of course, other parts can show up instead: the distracted part that wants to focus on everything but what YOU want to focus on (I also call this one my ADHD part), or the sleepy part that forces your eyelids closed, the one that tells you you’re “doing it wrong,” and the one that criticizes you for not doing something more productive (like walking the dogs, writing that email, or cleaning the house).

This internal stalemate is frustrating – however many ways you might experience it and can feel empty and full of suffering. When I encounter these inner experiences, they affect my creativity, the way I communicate, and every relationship from my mother-in-law to my dog.

But then…

There are also the times I can be with it – hold space for it just to be and allow it to show up exactly how it needs to. Acceptance forms, and there’s space for me to sit with it, not in overwhelmed discomfort, but instead in a curious relationship that breeds compassion and understanding.

Here, I can learn its wisdom, honour its boundaries, and am able to take deliberate steps in my outer life towards increased connectedness, creativity, playfulness and joy.

Every experience we have within ourselves, every part, holds wisdom and an opportunity for heartfelt connections with ourselves and those we share our lives with.

But this work is not always easy to do alone, nor do I believe we always should do it alone.

Until February 23rd, I’m offering 3-session, 6-session & 12-session packages at a discounted rate.

As of February 24th, and my completion of the Internal Family Systems Therapy Level 1 training, my prices will be going up from my standard rates.

Inner Transformation | 1:1 Coaching (6-Session Package)

Inner Evolution | 1:1 Coaching (12-Session Package)

To take full responsibility for our emotions, thoughts, urges and behaviours, we have to be in a relationship with them – this takes time. Still, every moment we sit with ourselves from a place of heart-centred connection, we build our capacity for strength, resilience, clarity and creation.

For ourselves, and for the world.

Molly
